Louisiana Research Associates Inc. is a multi-therapeutic, dedicated research site. We are located on the West bank of New Orleans Louisiana, just minutes from downtown. This location provides easy access by public transportation, free parking, and handicap accessibility.  Our well trained and experienced Physicians and Staff offer to sponsors a quality site that can assure rapid enrollment, quality data and comfortable work environment. To study participants, we assure quality care before, during and after completion of a clinical trial..

 

New Orleans has made a significant recovery since Hurricane Katrina. We are located on the Westbank of New Orleans, which did not flood. Our offices are on the fourth floor of an office building, providing protection against data and investigational product loss should another catastrophe occur. The metropolitan area of New Orleans now has a population of one million.

LRA has been conducting Clinical trials since 1989. We have worked with a variety of sponsors including AstraZeneca, Sanofi-Aventis, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Pain Therapeutics, Novartis,  Lilly, and Purdue Pharma. As we have in the past, we are currently involved in numerous protocols in a variety of therapeutic areas including Alzheimer’s Disease, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar disorder, as well as pain management, obesity, dermatology, and hypertension.

 

The post-Katrina factor.

We are back and fully recovered from Katrina.  Like you, we stayed and decided to help rebuild New Orleans.  We know many of you have lost a lot, including your regular source of health care:  either you lost the clinic you used to use to the flood, or your doctor left town.  So LRA now serves an additional role as an alternate source of care.  We realize that a ResearchCenter cannot substitute for a regular clinic, but we can provide free evaluation and updated treatment for what ails you when it matches our protocols


SITE FEATURES

 

Louisiana Research Associates is an independent dedicated research site. We have ample appropriated space for the conduct of clinical trials.

 

Our offices are equipped with DSL communication and digital and analogue telephone lines. We have offices dedicated for the use of visiting monitors with DSL availability and fax/copier access

 

We have a laboratory with -25 degree freezer, centrifuge, exam rooms with appropriate equipment (ECG machine, scale, blood pressure and temp monitoring devices etc). All equipment is calibrated on an annual basis.

 

The storage room for Investigational Product is double locked, temperature regulated and temperature monitored. Only two keys are available to the medication room.

 

We have 24 hour answering service for emergency phone calls

 

Why are Clinical trials important?

 

Clinical trials provide information to determine whether investigational products are safe and effective. Because of clinical trails, thousands of effective treatments are available for medical conditions.  These trials often result in the discovery of new medications that enable people to live longer with an enhanced quality of life. Survival rates for certain conditions (such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and HIV) have increased because of recent research advances.
